Something.
There, I've done it. Now let's get on with some things I hope are more interesting.
I bought a new camera about two months ago, just before traveling abroad. I did a good deal of research about digital SLRs and all levels of "point-an-shoot" cameras before making my choice. I'll spare you the details of that and just say that I purchased a Panasonic Lumix. It is seriously feature laden and I set about experimenting with the settings in the first few weekends. It's doubtful that I will ever master all the options, but I'm certainly having a lot of fun trying.
I went on a cloudy Saturday to the National Cathedral to test out both the zoom (all those gargoyles and grotesques!) and the exposure options indoors. I used to see people taking so many photos that I question whether they really ever see and experience the place that they are. And while I still think this may be the case more often than not, I have found that looking through the lens sometimes causes me to notice things I might otherwise have overlooked.
So the photographic study below is a small stained glass window on the south side of the cathedral, I couldn't tell you now what the story being told in it is, but I was struck by the distinct use of the three primary colors in each of the lites. Enjoy!
